Hao Nguyen…

One of my favorite memories of Hao was when I was in Tahoe and decided I was going to place bets on some football games. I know little to nothing about football. At this point I had never called Hao on his cell phone, but I had been drinking and even though it was Saturday it seemed like a good idea as he was known for knowing a lot about sports. I called him up on speaker phone with my brother and we asked him which games to bet on. Not only did he take our call that day he stayed on the phone for 30 minutes walking us through the games he thought had the best chance of winning. Because we were drinking, we bet way too much money but… we won every game. We couldn’t believe it. Even though I had only been with his firm for little bit, even though I was a little drunk, even though it was Saturday, he took my call. He treated everyone the same – it didn’t matter how much money you made or who you were, which I always admired about Hao.
